PONDEROSA Pine

Ponderosa Pine is a slow growing tree with drought resistance found on the Eastern slopes of the hills surrounding Oroville.   Products from the Ponderosa Pine are known for their unique appearance.  The Company currently makes one inch boards from the pine logs for many uses from crating to window trim.

A particular feature of some of the Pine is the blue stain that develops in the logs when stressed or killed by fires.  We market the stain boards for use in pattern work or cabinetry.  We have also cut logs that have been riddled with worm holes that add to the character of the wood.  Some of these logs may be used for cabin walls and produced as rough cut or surfaced smooth for siding products.

The Company is exploring the use of the Blue Stain logs for a cabin kit that can be assembled by the customer or a contractor on your property.  The package includes rough sawn Douglas Fir for floors and roof structure.
